Understanding Our Cover

Public Liability

Public Liability insurance protects against claims made by third parties for injury or property damage caused by our business activities. This includes accidental damage to property we visit during collections or deliveries, and injury to members of the public arising from our operations.

Goods in Transit

Goods in Transit cover provides protection for items being transported by our vehicles. Cover applies while goods are in our care, custody, and control during the course of transit. All claims are subject to policy terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions. The cover does not extend to inherent vice, poor packing, or items not declared at booking.

CMR Cover

CMR (Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road) cover applies to international road haulage movements. This standardised framework sets out carrier liability and claims procedures for cross-border consignments within signatory countries. CMR liability limits are calculated based on weight rather than declared value.

Claims Process

In the event of loss or damage, please follow these steps to ensure your claim can be processed:

Report Immediately

Notify us of any damage or loss within 24 hours of delivery

Document Evidence

Take photographs and retain all packaging and damaged items

Submit in Writing

Provide a written claim with details, photos, and proof of value

Claim Review

Claims are reviewed against policy terms and conditions

Important: Claims must be reported within 24 hours of delivery and submitted in writing within 7 days. Late notification may affect your claim. We reserve the right to inspect damaged items and packaging before any claim is accepted.

Exclusions & Limitations

The following are generally excluded from cover. This list is not exhaustive and all claims remain subject to full policy terms:

  • Items not properly packaged or secured by the customer
  • Undeclared, misdescribed, or incorrectly valued items
  • Consequential, indirect, or special losses
  • Loss or damage caused by inherent vice or natural deterioration
  • Items of extraordinary value not specifically agreed in writing
  • Damage arising from customer-provided packing materials
  • Electrical or mechanical derangement unless caused by transit damage
  • Items left in unattended vehicles
  • Delays, howsoever caused

Liability Limitations

Customer Responsibilities

  • • Ensure all items are properly packed and secured
  • • Declare the full and accurate value of items at booking
  • • Disclose any fragile, valuable, or high-risk items
  • • Inspect goods upon delivery and note any damage
  • • Report issues immediately and in writing

Insurance Does Not Guarantee Claims

The existence of insurance cover does not automatically guarantee that any claim will be accepted or paid. All claims are assessed against policy terms, conditions, and exclusions. The insurer retains the right to decline claims that do not meet policy requirements, regardless of cover limits shown.
